The ultimate nutrition resource
  • Post your favourite sources of nutritious goodness right here.
  • Great idea Adam.
  • Terry's Meats are awesome.
See Brodyn if you are interested.

    Great for supplements and herbs.
  • I second iherb.  I've found their high strength fish oil competitively priced.

Another good source for meat - www.thefarmersmarket.com.au for grassfed beef and pork.  Farmer Dan also does lamb and chicken and is trying to increase his product range.
Excellent service - I once ordered a slab of porterhouse in the morning, was delivered by the afternoon (as he happened to be doing a delivery in the area).
He also attends various farmers markets if you don't want to do the online thing.
  • Prom Meats in Foster have outstanding beef if you're ever in South East Gippsland.
  • i found this shortly after car-jacking the paleo wagon....

these taste AH-MAY-ZING, and are a handy go-to paleo snack that are easy to make and quite filling
have been trying to make a double-batch every week, which lasts me about a week.
feel free to add other nuts like hazelnuts, or cocoa powder for a choc-hit, or your favourite amphetamines for some extra KICK! ;)
and you can experiment with all sorts of dried fruit, i added dried mango, strawberries, goji berries, cranberries & sultanas to my last batch
i also found that a drizzle of honey over the top before sprinkling shredded coconut on top helps to stick
let me know how you go if anyone tries it...

PS i have also been REALLY happy ordering grass fed meat from here: http://koallahfarm.com.au/index.php
  • ooh, PPS
the last time I smashed out a batch of these bad boys i didnt bother roasting the nut mix in the oven & it didn't seem to make any difference to taste or texture... but definitely helped streamline the whole process
less time in the kitchen = more time to put food in pie-hole

  • Hey Leigh! These sound delicious :-) I will try asap! A word of warning on the dried fruits - watch out for added sugars and the use of vegetable oil, especially with cranberries, a lot of dried fruits are loaded up with these unfortunately. Also have you tried cacao powder rather than cocoa? Cacao is raw so all of the vitamins and antioxidants stay intact while you still get your chocolatey goodness :-) yum!!
  • Hey Bonnie,
yeah they rock... on the weeks i dont get around to making them i feel a deep emptiness in my soul... and stomach ;)
thanks heaps for the tips, thats great, will grab me some coca next time im doing a harvest for a batch of cocaine hehehe
sounds good, will let you know how i go!

    how is your recovery going?
pretty sure some cacao-loaded primal bars would aid the recovery process!
    cheers!
